The Thai Fruit Season

During the transition from the hot to the rainy seasons, Thailand enjoys a bountiful harvest of fruit. This includes some of the more famous Thai fruits including the Turian, the Mang Koot (Mangosteen) and Rambutan. During this time you can purchase these fruits for prices not reaching 20 Thai baht per kilo, which considered very cheap indeed.

At Sukko Spa Resort we grow many fruits such as Turian and Rambutan close to the villas. If you have the time to drop by during this period, you can walk around and enjoy the natural ambiance and smells, and pick your own fruit and eat them for free. But when eating the Turian, must must use careful skin to peel the husk and enjoy the unique, delicious taste which earned the nickname the King of Fruit.

Yoga with Ken Harakuma at Sukko Spa

Ken Harakuma will teach at Sukko Spa on Jan 12th - Feb 20th :

Ken Harakuma is the Director of Ashtanga Yoga Japan and co-founder of the International Yoga Center Japan. A surfer since high school, he has a black belt in Shorinji Kempo martial arts, has journeyed to the North Pole and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro. His path led to health-related training - practising Tai chi, Thai Massage, Therapy & Chiropractic Sports Massage and Reiki Master Certification.

He has been practising yoga for many years and studies continuously with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and R Sharath at the KPJAYI in Mysore. Ken is the first Japanese teacher authorised by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois to teach the Ashtanga Vinyasa method. He is presently practising the Advanced Series under their guidance.

He supervised the translation (into Japanese) of Sriya Namaskar ,Yoga Mala by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Ashtanga Yoga by Lino Miele and wrote “The Spirit of Ashtanga Yoga” (in Japanese).He also invited R Sharat to Japan 2005 & 2007 for WS at Tokyo.
